Man, it would be nice to know what the fuel pressure was doing. I know and understand the reasons you don't have a gauge yet... Still, having hard numbers to point us in the right direction would be great.
It still could be ignition, too. Just not the same failure mode as mine.

Well great. So I went back out today, replaced the delco coils with the magnivox coils, cleaned all the grounds i could find, gave them dielectric grease, gave the battery some water, checked all fluids, checked all wires, tightened everything back up and then it REALLY wouldn't start (doesn't like those weaker coils) so what does this mean? it IS a fuel problem like i said? The only time it will start is if i start pressing the gas intermittently and just crank for about 5 seconds, back off, try again. took 6 tries. didn't start it before the work today just to see and yep. houston, we have a problem.

I'm not sure that necessarily means that you have a fuel problem. All it means for sure is that the Delco coils are doing a beter job than the Magnavox unit.
To my mind, it might point even more in the direction of a spark issue, one that the Delco can more or less overcome, but the Magnavox struggles with more. Maybe too big of a gap on the plugs? Iffy wires?
Of course, there'* also a line of thinking that would point toward fuel pressure yet. Say, if the pressure wasn't quite enough to get a good atomized spray from the injectors, and the hotter spark from the Delco coils was better at overcoming that less than ideal condition.
I really don't know though. All of the above is just what my mind can think of.
I'd suggest living like a bum for a while (no beer or DVD rentals, etc.) and save up for a fuel pressure gauge. Not to nag or anything...

hah, i already live like a bum
i dont buy anything really., so thats not gonna help a whole lot, and i doubt the thing on the plugs, because it was doing this BEFORE my last tune up.
that whole thing with a little fuel and more spark is exactly what i was thinking before. but i really dont wanna hear that. what could be WRONG here? new fpr? doesn't ever stall or anything, no leaks, runs normally, just has the starting problem.
