Yeah, that does sound like the FPR not doing it'* job. Hope that takes care of it!

Quick, easy fixes are the best.

With all of the fuel problems you've had, you really need to get yourself a fuel pressure gauge. That would tell you right quick if your FPR is dead, or if your pump is putting out, etc. Seriously the best $36 I've ever spent!

Do tell, where did you get yours? I tried buying one at Advance and they looked at me like i was nuts!

I got mine off ebay, actually, but they sell them at Autozone and Sears, for sure. It'* an actron. Lets see if I can find one...

Here'* one. Make sure it'* one for fuel injection, not just carb fuel pressure (which is a lot lower).

Just installed the new regulator! Wouldn't start at first obviously, got the fuel pressure up and after 3 tries it started! Then shut it off, and tried again and she fired right up! It works!!! w00t!

I know how frustrating it can be to keep cranking away.

And not knowing when the FPR was going to fail altogether! It was just failing under no vacuum, i was just waiting for it not to work at all.

Plus its SO embarrassing when people are watching you try to start your car...just...not fun.

Yeah, it'* annoying anyway that people assume our cars are pieces of crap just because they're old and the paint is turning into pink dust.

But so much worse when our cars start to prove them right by acting badly.

OK, its kinda back now. She doesn't want to start when cold but starts fine after just running.

When i went out to start, i first just turned the ignition on and heard the pump prime and about 1 second after that, i heard this POP, and felt it right under my feet (where the fuel lines run) VERY odd, but no leakage. then tried starting, took me 6 tries to start, that was not pleasant. WHAT is the deal here? New FP, new fuel filter, new FPR, WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE?!

The pop without leakage is a stumper. A line could have shifted in a bracket under pressure maybe? I doubt it could have been an obstruction in the line that let loose, I don't think you would feel or hear that.

Did you try starting it again after that to see if it was a freak thing, or if it'* back to haunt you for good?

Sure would be nice to have a parts car to help you diagnose these difficult issues, eh?

yeah, i went out, i started it 6 different times after that and it was fine, i have no idea why it doesn't like to start after sitting
