On the 94 when I had it, for the first 2 weeks after I put the HU in I would pull the face plate whenever I left the car. After that it became a PITA and I forgot about it.

That was the original theft det. design. I sold Kenwood'* that the whole unit pulled out of a docking sleve, before they went with faceplates. Kenwood even had a model that only a small piece of the face plate came off. I thought that was the best. Size of a fob instead of the whole thing.
I don't know if it was a Kenwood, but I had one of those "yank the whole thing" stereos a long time ago. Kind of a neat design idea. Push the button, the hanld pops out, and you carry (lug) it with you.
I had a Wrangler with one of those, and it was a Kenwood. never used it htough, couldn't see luggin the whole thing with me!!!

On that note, and the lighter comment...

A number of years back (won't say how many or y'all will think I'm old), my only car at the time was broken into. Nothing to steal (cheap factory radio), but there was a lighter in the console. Buggers used the lighter to burn the faceplate of the radio and some spots on the dash before it got too hot. Then they dropped the hot lighter on the floor where it melted a small spot there. My only thought was that maybe one of the bastids got burned.

Guys...I'm very sorry about Scott and his off topic, low humor post above. We have called the white coats to come and put him back behind the bars you see above. He actually PS'd a copy of his cell bars on John'* car.

Now back to your semi unscheduled topic.

I kinda like the bars on the window....

And they only took my disposable lighters. And they weren't even the good ones. Just the crappy little 59 cent kind.
