Fits onto the piston. Put your socket wrench into the slot and turn your piston clockwise to seat it back into the bore of the caliper to be able to fit the caliper back onto the rotor after pad replacement.

I'll get some pics when I do the other side.....I'm on a food/beer break right now!

thanks brian, im gonna have to pick one of those up... so what did you use the C-clamp for? i have always used those for my brakes

the rear caliper has to screw in, not just press in

I despise your front and rear discs.

if you try to press in the pistons you can easily destroy the caliper

Although he hasn't posted it, he just used the C-clamp to depress the piston enough to free the pads from the rotor. He'* following instructions posted here.... (I hope. )

Actually I never used the C clamp, the caliper came off the rotor without it. My only snag was on the drivers rear, someone before me stripped the upper bolt thread probably on re-installing it, it was a bitch to get out, I was worried about snapping the bolt off, but it came out and I seemed to get it to re-thread upon remounting the caliper.
