Default Please help, missing ebrake

My bro just got a 1999 Park Ave. While troubleshooting 1 problem I created another. I pressed the ebrake peddle down, but I think that the release lever is missing. Can anyone send me a pic of where it is supposed to be. Also if it is missing how the heck to release it.

It doesn't exist, you push it back in to release it.

As in the ratcheting mechanism that holds it down should release when you push the parking brake pedal again.
