Default rod knock remedies

I'm planning on buying a 2 door sunfire to race for 250 from a friend it has a knock its basically ting ting ting repeatedly I'm wondering what you'd recommend to help fix that just enough to hold me through races. I've heard seafoam, lucas oil engine stabilizer etc he put 1200 worth of cooling system new alt tires and things into this and its pretty solid I just need to make sure this engine doesn't blow.

i dont know anything about lucas but seafoam cleans it, which would be ok if your lifters were plugged, but if its bearings you want something that thickens up the oil. i would replace it with some 20w-50.
