Default Recalls

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix which is in need of the valve cover gaskets need replaced.. But a guy I know just told me that their is a recall on that..

But the insurance company totalled it out when I bumped the front end into another vehicle 2 Yeats ago.
And It has about $170,000.00 miles on it.

How do I go about figuring out if there is the recall??

There is a recall, it addresses the sparkplug wire holder above the exhaust manifold. When oil leaks from the valve cover, the oil runs over the wireholder down onto the hot exhaust manifold. They have been know to catch fire.

Is there a website I can go to so I can see the recalls? And will it be fixed with the car being so old and it being considered totalled? I took the option to keep the car from the insurance company and used the money to get a hood and headlights. And was able to straighten the front bar where the hood latches into..

That recall only replaces the front valve cover gasket, not the rear......not sure if a totalled vehicle would be covered....
