Default Recalls on 2000 SSEi

I have read that there is at least one recall on the 2000 SSEi. Does anyone have the details on the recall? Has there been more than one?

Thanx/

Jim

There has been a recent recall on a coolant leak issue, but didn't effect all 2000 SSEI. Call your local dealer and give him your VIN number, he'll be able to tell you if your car ever was effected by any recall.

I called my local dealer and he didn't have any info on it. He said that unless I get a factory authorized recall notice in the mail, he couldn't do anything. :?

My parents got one for their 2000 Lesabre 2 weks ago in regards to a potential coolant leak problem concerning the throttle body gasket and or the lower to upper intake gaskets failing.. Fix would be to inspect for leaks, and then replace the throttle body bolts with new revised ones, and then add some anti-leak (stopleak) into the coolant system via the radiator. Talk about a patch for a fix..

They did mention if the customer has had the intake or TB gaskets replaced earlier, they will be compensated for those repairs Theirs had already been replaced under warranty 3 months ago. .it was consuming about a gallon of coolant every 2 weeks. Intake gasket was replaced... Problem is,, now we have to constantly check for future problems with the gasket since they are not revised gaskets or intake.. What a crock.
