Essentially I'm lost. I've brought my car to multiple mechanics and none have any idea what the issue is. I got a front end alignment at Firestone and ever since, when I turn right or idle, an extremely loud clacking noise emanates from inside the transmission right where the CV Axle inserts. When the car is off, or turning left, there'* no sound. I've ruled out the CV Axle, brake pads, rotors, wheel bearing, ball joints, struts, and strut mounts. I can't diagnose the issue and I don't know where else to go. Anything helps

This happened immediately after the alignment?

that'* correct, the very same day. Firestone claims it was not a result of their alignment.

Take it back before the issue gets too old.

Doing an alignment shouldn't cause noises in the transaxle, however, at the same time it didn't have the issue until they had it in their hands.

How bad was the alignment before you took it to them?

Have they put the car on a rack post-complaint and checked clearances for tie rods and other suspension parts?

Have they checked for anything loose under the car no matter how closely-related (to the alignment work)?

Is the strut-tower brace tightened properly? (I've seen the brace left off and sitting on top of the strut-tower nuts while they do the alignment, then get forgotten)

Then there'* always the possibility that someone hot-rodded it during a test drive etc. and broke something. That'* difficult to prove though.
