Question Any ideas?

I have a '00 Grand Prix with the 3100 V6 engine and I've got a wire disconnected. (Am figuring someone has messed around with it.) The wire is coming from the harness that connects into the alternator, with a couple other cables jumping off from it and the connector is black with a orange rubber boot. That has 2 wires which are orange and red running into the lock connector. If anyone has a clue where this plug snaps in at please give me a heads up, I can't find the connection to save my life. The car will only crank if I hold the throttle/accelerator about half way but doesn't rev up or idle the engine just dies.
I have a photo here of the cable and where it'* hanging kind of between the alternator and coil pack.

in case the photo link above doesn't work, I'll attempt adding it straight here.

Nope, my alt. has a smaller plug and the O ring clip that bolts over the alt. bolt. Thank you though, I still haven't found it. I've taken off the alt., power steering pump, and intake but still haven't found where that blasted wire plugs in.

I'm pretty sure that'* what it is, which means the car has the wrong alternator in it, and was rigged to work. That pic was from rockauto of the alternator listed for that car.

Yes, it sure looked like the alternator plug....has the right color wires, and the wires were in the correct position, D(orange) and B(red)....

Can you show us the plug that is plugged in to the alternator?

Also, the plug is in addition to the main, which uses the eyelet connector.
