Well I've been shut down to an extent. My band saw has expired (died). I do a lot of cutting and fitting and it'* almost impossible to do without one. I'm so limited on the equipment that I do have that this one really slows me down. So I'm trying to find a used affordable saw. I'm still waiting for the welder to complete the welds on my hot side piping. He has lots of equipment so I'm going to pay him a visit and see if he has a band saw to sell.
Thanks so much for the inspiration though. It keeps me going.

Ha! I love that sign. You must know Claira Voiant. I just got back from an old guys shop that passed away and the family is literally throwing good stuff away. I got a full sized Rockwell vertical band saw and I pulled in an upright/floor stand drill press in on the deal. Both for 400 bucks. I threw it on the trailer and ran before anyone changed their minds.

SO LET THE FABRICATIOIN BEGIN!!!

Thank you. I'll hang it with pride. I really appreciate the moral boost from you guys on this forum. Time to get back to work.
Since my Bonnie was totaled our family car has been a BMW 530i. It has not been trouble free and my wife is actually worried that it will strand us again (three times in four years) and right now the front passenger door lock actuator has failed locked. Can't get the door open to replace it so I have to totally destroy the inner door panel to remove it while the door is closed, then replace the actuator. So. I set out to find the modern family car of my dreams. Of course it had to be a Pontiac, right?? I found a 56,000 mile 2008 G8 GT down in Tucson. All black, inside, outside, upside down, in great shape and totally stock. The owner is a great young kid in the service training down at the air base in Tucson. He'* an Afghanistan veteran, a really good kid, and is making the service his life'* work, so I feel good that it'* going to him and not some dealer. I get it this weekend so I'm getting pretty antsy to have it in my grubby little hands. I'll get pics up as soon as I get it home. Guess I'll start using a little Aussie accent now in my everyday vocabulary, rawwwt myte??? LOL.

the G-8 should be a great car i hope. i wouldnt mind having one but cant pay the gas with my current commute. i think if i didnt drive so far my "family" car would be a cts-v wagon with a M6. at least thats what i would tell the wife its for. "its practical cause its a wagon"

I really wanted (is lusted too strong a word???) after an M6 G8 but my wife has driven so many wifey unfriendly cars she says she isn't driving a stick again. But an auto is better in the city. At least I wished they had included paddle shifters. That I would like. Maybe I can add a kit later?

i hate autos but if im going to have one i would rather be a ratchet shifter than a flappy paddle. i dont know if the wife would want to drive it either she has mentioned not minding having a manual if she had a camaro or something but when it comes down to her daily driver it may be a different story. i used to have nothing but manuals until recently when the cars i want dont even offer the option. so she learned a long time ago and was always fine driving me hope or something if she had to.
