Ok... I have a 94 SSEi, finally took some pics seeing that everyone else is making a CAI System, I dont wanna be left in the stocks
These are current under the hood pics.

Now these are minus the box. Notice the compressor and the GIANT windshield washer tank.
The tank also runs the "headlamp washers". Would a later year model work in its place to make more room? and if so, would it allow the headlamp washers to function as well... not that I use them, but id like the FULL Functionality with the upgrade.
The compressor is for the air-ride suspension, and is in the way of running a typical intake tube, and placing a box like PurpleHazer and Danthurs. Any Suggestions???

Like I said, Im more interested in ideas... there are several later 90s bonnies that I could steal the washer tank from if anyone thinks it would bolt up well enough to stay and work, and if it WOULD WORK... I want an intake and BOX, rather than the Fire Wall Intake System, the area is too dusty to have to be under the car every other week to check the filter for dust and all that, plus the washer box would have to be relocated or removed for a FWI System anyways... so help?

Looking at your air filter box, I bet if you gutted that out and put a cone filter on the intake side (between the box and the front end) you would have a pretty decent CAI system. I don't know what the depth is between the air box and the front end, but it'* worth a shot. Then you can put a plexi top on it as well as the bottom...so, you are using the airbox as the support and main frame.

I'm with Kevin here. If you can gut the box and fit a cone filter you should be good. Otherwise try the cone filter I have. It'* like 9" lone and about 6" around at the most. From the pictures it looks like you have nearly the same space as mine even with the washer bottle in place. If you can find a smaller one, go for it. Then just start fitting cardboard templates.

Thought about that... I had a... i have to get some pics... 5" cone filter from my miata... was on it a week... will explain the story in a bit but I tried that thought and a) theres not enough room. b) the spot on the box is oval shaped, flatened on top and bottom and too big for a cone filter to work properly IF there WAS room
, but good thought.
Ill actually have to build a box of some sort, but unless I went with a long 9" filter I dont think it would leave enough room for a good box and air circulation once all constructed with the current equipment still installed
now onto the funny filter... I came across it in the storage unit and was like perfect for the bonnie... its a Red fiber "Intimidator" filter, bought it for my miata, was doing the underbody parts in red and the filter i bought with the intake off ebay was blue... The filter was installed for about a week and the gang was like "lets go wash the cars" so i grabbed a walmart bag to put over the filter when washing under the hood... dont want it wet and all (now dont start laughing and get ahead of me)... now during the washing i shut the hood to clean it off and forgot to remove the BAG after we were done... oddly enough it ran for almost 5 secs before dying and making me all
... now it sucked the filter SO tight... it is still 3yrs later, warped all the way around... it works well but its funny looking... pictures to come soon hehe

Scratched but still pretty chrome... life in a box isnt healthy for shininess lol

Slightly warped I know, 3yrs after the incident lol...

Left Side is this way all the way around... Right Side is where a metal support bar is for the top and bottom pieces, it DID NOT warp, its how the filter should look
