I'm open to suggestions. Only reason why I was considering them is because of the price.. .

I got the Club stickers too! They added 5 HP each.
Good mod!

The PEMs should be a good solid foundation mod.

Think of tires..like a cut of meat. You can buy a piece of grizzle really cheap. A nice sirloin though...that'* going to cost a little.

Assuming you are buying drag slicks for the track, and the car won't see the road once the first flake falls... Look for performance tires that will grip the road. Your ultimate goal isn't to spin the tread off a crappy tire, it should be to hook up, only leaving a memory and vapor trail where you were.

I was planning seperate tires for the track. For basic driving, I want a good solid set of tires, but they're something I have NFC about which brand/tire is good and which isn't.

Morty, I'm on my second set of Toyo Proxes TPT'*. Good directional tread. Love the grip and handling year round, including at the track.

I had them siped before install. Do be warned, the siping CAN be hard on your diff if you're not careful.

Don't ask what happened to the first set, but they were pro-rated, so I got my money'* worth.

Being a computer and internet addict.. you need to do your research.

Also..with Bfest so close...I'd hang off on the tires and look at some tires while you are there.

Me..I like a good agressive Michelin.. they tend to be high priced. Also some BFG'* have treated me well.. Firestones are called fireflops in my book...all they do is spin and hydroplane you off the road IMO.

You can look at the thread on a tire and know there isn't going to be any traction in wet and snow.
Also..if you buy an 80K mile rated tire...you know it'* got a super hard compound and won't grip like performance (no mileage rating) tire will.

I ended up getting a decent set of Michelins just recently. Not a performance tire, but not a hard-as-nails 80K rated tire either. Good looks, good traction and smooth on the road.

Ya know Morty...next time you are up here...I'll cruise ya over to the tire places close by and we'll do a quick tire 101 lesson...

I'll make you take pics, notes and do a write up for the club... It can be fun, informative and good for all.

Believe it or not, that was my plan from the get-go. I'm going to buy tires Saturday since I intend on being done with the bumper and grill on Friday. Figured I'd drag you along if you didn't mind when I buy them.
