Thanks for the advice Bil. I'll consider them if they're available when I tire buy next month.

Saying that nobody sipes on the East Coast is like saying.......can't think of a good analogy. That'* ridiculous. You can find a siping shop. This isn't a west-coast thing.
I have 5 siping locations within an hour of me. And I live and work in two different cities of under 50k population.

And we challenged you to find a siping shop on the east coast before. I haven't seen a result yet bud. Us east coasters never heard of siping until you typed it.

I looked, called and asked about siping. Got a bunch of people saying..WTH are you asking about?
Then talked to Dad...Dad sold tires for years and year....he should have heard about it. I said siping to him and he said..yeah..the grooves that allow the water out the sidewall are called sipes. I explained it was a series of small slits in the tread...he said...never heard of it.

Down here, the only place I know of that does siping is Discount Tire and not all of their shops do it either.
I once had a discussion with the guys in our R&D group at the automotive fluid supply place I worked at for 13 years. I mentioned siping , got the WTF?, and when I explained it, they were totally convinced I was BS-ing them. I challenged them to look it up, but they were still skeptical. These guys were all engineering grads for bleeps sake!
