Intake option (Rice Pipe) Read entire thread b4 asking q?
Their illiteracy pisses me off. Very unprofessional, and their performance claims are grossly inflated. Then I saw their shipping charges. $21 for UPS GROUND! That ends up being $75 for something that will be very difficult to sheild from the heat (assuming you do the buy it now).
Buy the K&N RX-4750 from www.ajusa.com (free shipping) and the rice pipe from Autozone. You'll have a better intake for the same amount of money.

Got is from Ram Chargers for like $22. It is a 4" - 3.5" Reinforced Silicone Coupler. I had to get the 3.5" because this thing would not strech at all to fit over the TB. Being reinforced it is very strong and would prob. solve the prople some were having with the filter being to heavy.
I used the ricer pipe and my IAT is in the bigger hole in the pipe and I used some metal filler playdough to tighten it up. Was that OK. Does it make a big difference when people put it in the filter? I feel llike I lost some low end torque when I converted to CAI. Could it be better when I make a heat sheild?
Just wondering.. have you guys ever considered as far as filtration? Obvisouly with more air flow means less filtration.. being in the boonies and sometime having to follow dump truck kickin out and carry dirt and wat not.. I"m always afraid for added power vs. reliability.. but if it helps with MPG.. and some performance.. is the reason I wanted to mod it ( I may have to mod it anyways.. but thats another topic )

Well, scan results show a great difference between my old PVC ontake and the rice pipe with insulation and a shield.
Before: 140 degrees sitting still on a hot day
110 moving above 30
After: it was just sitting within a few degrees of 100 the entire time I was scanning, moving or not.
