Not to start an argument, but I maintain that my pipe is always cool to the touch.
Spectre informed me it'* a composite material that does not aborb heat.
I was going to return it, but decided to give it a chance. I noticed last summer that on the hottest days the pipe was always cool.
No doubt about my cheesy heat shield, though.

Adam,
If you want, when I am done designing my plexiglass heat shield in a month or two, I will be more than happy to share the measurements with you to save you time and effort. I will be making a cardboard mock-up, then cutting plexiglass to match and making the top piece removable by one way or another to be able to service the filter. Understand the pipes I use may not be the same length, because I got the Air Flow sensor pipe that'* a bit longer to put the IAT into (which I have to custom work also)...lots of fabrication going on here. But as I said, when I am done, it'* write-up time. I'm also glad you found out it'* composite, I wouldn't have changed it either way, but that makes me happier!

Mike:
Yes, please share the dimensions. That would make life much easier when I do mine.
Thanks!
You might be able to plug the IAT into the pipe itself. There are plugged holes available further up the pipe. It might save you a bit of labor.
Keep in touch, and thanks again.

Adam: I removed that 3-hole pipe, and got the one bigger hole one that has adaptive plates that I am going to fabricate to fit the IAT, I think it'* a better choice.
Also, yes, there is a IAT hole on the K&N, but I am plugging in. The car came with the IAT on the intake tube in that spot for a reason, it'* closer to the actual temp coming into the engine. If you were to say put it where the filter is, the car might read the temp as a few degrees lower. Just a little common sense usage
