On the heat shield you many want to consider insulating the outter surface instead of the inner. That way the stainless won't get hot and conduct the heat to the insulation. If possible and I'm no expert or gearhead..but try and keep the metal from heating up. Once it gets warm it stays warm longer than many substances.
I noticed my stock airbox never really got heated up...my rice pipe (uninsulated at the moment) does get warm and stays warm for quite a while.
On those plugs..haven't heard of them. I'm running delco iridiums.

Maybe the outside would be better to insulate. I guess it would keep the inside cooler.
I got my 180* stat installed but the temp gauge still reads 195*-200*. It never goes over the 200* mark but it didn't go over that before the 180 either. When I got my new pcm I had them to program the fans to kick on in relation to the 180. Is what I'm experiencing normal or what??
