front tranny mount for 96se
Anyone making a "hockey puck" style for a 96? I'm tired of replacing the stock types. As we all know they don't last, they're a pain in the *** to replace. I need to replace all of them this time but before I spend $70 for the "shocker" I'd like to knowmy options.
Does anyone have pictures and instructions on how to modify?

To start off.. Rockiauto has them for about $45
I devised this mount originally to clear headers, have been running it for over a year and it has held perfectly. The rubber has not seperated at all, the mount allows for less engine/trans travel and works like a champ.
I removed the factory strut from it, cut the ear and welded the ear sideways. Used a grade 8 bolt to hold it together with some hockey pucks I used a hole saw to right size.
Hopefully this helps

It looks good. Do you have one you could ship to me? How much?
I'm so fed-up with it I'm willing to pay a shop to replace all of them. I know the front one is bad. I'm guessing they are all bad by the noises coming from the engine bay. I do see the engine move around a good bit.

I recently made one for a member on another forum. He bought the mount from Rockauto, had it shipped to me and then sent a nice check when he received the mount.
I'm pretty busy with things, but if you want one badly...make it worth my time and I can make another. Say $40 + the mount shipped to me. Personally I wouldn't pay me that much to do it. Ask around to friends etc and find someone that knows how to weld and has the tools to cut the metal.
The only specialish tools I needed to do it was a welder, cut off wheel, and a hole saw. The hockey pucks (3) and bolt cost about $8.

Thanks,
Time is against me right now, I guess I'll use an original design for now and then build one later. I've never tried to find a Hockey Puck here in South Louisiana, maybe at one of those big athletic stores....
Peace Out
