Default Front tranny mount

I need to replace the front tranny mount on my 97 SSE. This is the one that has a little shock absorber built into it. I tried taking off the old one but got stuck on one bolt; so I bolted it all back together and here I sit with still needing to install the new one.
Has any one done this job before? if so how do you get the bolt out that is closest to the starter?

Thanks for your help with this.

You have to jack the motor up with a block of wood on the jack under the oil pan. Assuming yours is similar to the Series 1, anyway. I've done two of these now.

Someone with the Series 2 may need to chime in on this to be sure. We had to muscle driverjohn'* motor around with a 2x4 in order to line the new one back up to the subframe.

Yep, from personal experience, that front tranny mount is a bear to change out. As I recall though, on my '93 it had no shock absorber per se, just a metal on the top and bottom, with a nice block of rubber in between. I also had to move the motor around to line up the bolts. It helped to have 2 floor jacks, as I recall.

I just changed a upper torsion axis mount (TAM) in my Saturn, and that took all of 20 mins. What a world of difference in difficulty factor from the Bonne!

Good Luck with it!
