Default Custom CAI

Work with me on this for a moment, would it be possible to create a custom CAI from the front license thing on 2000-2005 SLE'* and SSEI'*. I was under my car and was looking between the foglights where the Pontiac license thing is and got to thinking. What if i was to cut out where the license thing is with lets say a dremel, then ran 3 or 3.5 inch tubing from the opening to the bottom of the airbox. The opening would be fitted with gutter guard to keep dirt and rocks out, and some type of scoop or modified shopvac head. Then I would put a simple drop in K&N in the airbox and presto custom CAI. If this sunds a little crazy you have to excuse me, I'm a college freshman preparing for my engineering final

Engineering huh? That explains it. Seriously, though, that would probably yield some improvement over stock. Not as much as a full intake kit, though, because you still include the (slightly) restrictive factory box&stuff. Give it a shot!

I think it is completely over engineered and inefficient. Plus, it sounds like you want to hack apart your bumper which is another bad idea IMO. Your best bet for a CAI is a Intense FWI kit. www.intense-racing.com
