Okay, so call me crazy, but I was loosin my mind this morning thinking of things to do, so I took the intake tubbing and put it to use. and I know, take that stupid rubber off the TB, but I might just wrap it in insulation. I need ideas if I should firm up the insulation on the side. Its double thick on the box, save for the back by the cone.

Now, has anyone had any problems with the location of the tubbing, since I know some members have done the same thing that I have done. That should be an okay spot right?

To clarify, you don't have an FWI there. For an FWI, the filter is in the fender. You have the same type of setup I have on my 93. A CAI or intake with heatshield, with a fresh air feed from underneath. I built custom scoops for under the airdam.
I agree, get a cover on the box, or just go straight FWI.

cover it with plexiglass, by the looks of some other members cars the plexi looks really good, i still havent decided on mine either box the intake or custom a fwi, im really leaning toward the fenderwall.

Just finished the cover a few minutes ago. Didnt use plexis glass since I was at Lowes and HD and did not find the kind I wanted. I used the same material in making the box and basically made a insulated top that can be removed by taking lifting up on the section sitting over the filter and stock rubber. I will eventually find plexiglass cover I like. At first I was skeptical of the new cover, but after taking it on the highway at a constant 80 for 15 miles, the outside[insulation] was quite warm, and on the inside of the box and the filter were a cool to the touch feeling, so Im happy. Pictures to come later tonight, cameras charging right now.

definately not the most pretiest thing in the work. That was before I added the insulation.

That lil tab in the bottom right is the release for the cover.
and no the red isnt blood, its red perm marker..ie a NO pull tab.

I like wills idea of the plexi enclosure, and I will probably do that later on down the line, since itll take better measurements than that thing in my car, plus it looks like Ive got a fishing lure coming out of my */C
