A couple more intake options for the 00+ guys

Was the ADTR not powdercoated aluminum?

and the Thrasher makes a CAI that is designed for the Bonneville, no changes needed
Whether the filter end is in a box or in the fender well is moot.
The discussion here is laminar flow and why a tube that seems to be just like the ADTR seems to suddenly be a bad choice. Did the ADTR have heat soak issues or not?

have had no issues. (I think my time slips also support the performance results as well)
have had no issues. (I think my time slips also support the performance results as well)You never can know what could be happening without doing some scans
the only other known member who used the JMB intake had MORE KR with the JMB than with the stock airbox or intense fwi options. no other changes had been made between scans
When doing the install though, I did notice unless you make some adjustments, the tube going through the fender has some play - since that is right next to the ECM tray, I'm guessing that could send all kinds of false signals, especially on bumpy roads. But I'm sure that a creative mind can find a way to reduce or eliminate the vibrations.

I'm out-flowing mine now, which is why I moved it from the Zilla to the SLEeper.

I just thought this JMB intake was the same material as the ADTR. No one had issues with the ADTR, why suddenly with this JMB?
Getting my infamous Rice Pipe will get you about 95% of the way to the ADTR. It takes cutting, and it'* not powdercoated, but it'* almost the exact same bend, and no car running one the right way on this forum has ever had a problem.
They do take some creativity with building and fabricating the heat shield and some cutting of the pipe however...

And your subtle hints about INTENSE won't get you far here. INTENSE is held in the highest regard on this Forum. INTENSE has always taken the 'high road' in the dealings you refer to, and we're not about to turn this topic into a ZZP/INTENSE issue.
I can tell you from first-hand experience that the INTENSE FWI is far from cheap. It'* well built, well-designed, and alot of thought and testing obviously went into it. It'* been compared back-to-back with other types of intakes in the same car, and has always come out on top from testing.

Not trying to turn this into an Anti-Intense thread, I dislike vendor bashing on a public forum and think it has no place and no buisness there. It should be taken care of between the person and the buisness. Not here to cause any ripples I am here to learn about my newly acquired Bonneville SSEi and share my passion of these and other vehicles with people who share the same passion about cars that I have.
i must agree with you, the Intense FWI is certainly not the best looking option, but it has proven itself to be the most affective and versatile option for all. As i said before, if your dead set against buying an intense FWI, your second best bet would be the thrasher cold-airbox, but to me, the thrasher look sto be nothing more than an overpriced gutted airbox with a 9" filter inside of it.....

My question has yet to be answered: Is the ADTR pipe the same material as the JMB, and if so then one thing has become apparent:
One test on one car is obviously not conclusive, as the ADTR was revered as an excellent choice, so it stands to reason that the JMB would be also.
Moreover, more testing should be done with the JMB before it'* written off by the community.
If it'* the same material as the ADTR, the JMB should have no more or no less heat soak than the ADTR.
What am I missing here?
Jim, the INTENSE tubing isn't corrugated. It has performed VERY well for dozens of cars here. It is vastly superior to any aluminum or off-the-shelf CAI design. It was specifically designed originally for the 2000 Bonneville.
IMO (backed up by lots of experience, testing, and comparison) a FWI is the #1 option, bar none for a 2k or newer Bonneville. Keep in mind that while I only recently bought the INTENSE components to create a S1 kit, I've had experience with the FWI'* in the past at meets in the heat of summer.
Go FWI.
