My friends Lumina EURO edition has the 3.4 DOHC and it gets up and goes pretty good....mind you my 3800 puts me back in my seat harder....but he likes it, other than blowing timing belts and having the shop charge him big bucks...he likes it. The other thing I prefer about the 3800 is having a timing chain. but puttin that motor in a bonne sounds like fun man! good luck! and let us know how it goes.

Just to be clear, hes going to try the 3400 pushrod (LA1) not the 3.4l DOHC (LQ1).

ahh I see, I wasn't really sure as someone had asked but I didn't see a answer, probably my bad eyes, still should be fun though. Also he once again has a timing chain in that motor correct? no rubber belts! lol

yeah, the 3400 'LA1' is pushrod engine and uses a timing chain.
