John I am glad you are ok... It could have been a lot worse.. Hope the car wasn't damaged too bad.. And toying with a high powered car has to be done with some finesse...
How is your uncle taking it

From the looks of it you landed right between the trees. If you would have rolled two 1 foot forward you would have at least cracked the nose. I would have to say good save there. To think you told me how you usually never beat on your cars like you did when we went for a drive in your 93 :P Lmao!!! I hope everything is ok and your uncle is not too ticked off.

More like 3800lbs, but that'* not important... It'* a reasonably serious car there, depending on how the suspension/tire situation is. Got aftermarket wheels, so i'd assume atleast summer tires. It'* not the
Why on earth did you have TC off? I know it looks like a clear day, but, it'* not a Bonneville...
To rjolly, Ticket is for reckless driving, or some other term depending on the local code.
It'* certainly not the owner'* fault.

Don't rail on him too bad. The way i read it was as a warning to be on top of your game if you get behind the wheel, EVERY time you get behind the wheel. We can all learn from some other idiot'* :P , err person'* mistake.
Take the story for a good lesson, because of it were me, the police report would be of a youngster that was killed while driving my car. <== read between the lines there.

Alright. Day 2. Went through alot of stuff cleaning up the mess I made, physically and financially. Went over at 6 AM this morning and cleaned up the whole thing. Picked up sod from the home depot and some new 2' rebar pieces and made it look like new. In a few weeks when the grass adapts, you'll never know it happened...besides the insane skidmarks on the road. :?
The car has $8000+ est damages.
Few more pics.
Here is how close I was to the front tree, but insanely enough, never touched it. Freakin miracle....

And the damage is, rear quarter is SCREWED, 3 wheels, 3 tires, 3 ground effects, exhaust system, control arm, tail light, trunk, rear bumper cover...and everything that goes towards fixing that.
It actually didn't slide into the tree, it TILTED into the tree. The full slide was stopped by a landscaping 4x4 held in the ground by 2' rebar pieces. Did some damage to the wheels and such, but would have been a HELL of alot more damage to the body had that piece of wood not slowed me down.
Amazing how far away the car was from the tree when resting...showing how much of a tilt it was I remember that it ALMOST flipped...so thank goodness for the tree as well, because I'm almost certain I would have flipped otherwise.

I am definitely not used to RWD power like that. I accelerated out of the turn like I would with a FWD car...and then I guess I overcorrected with my foot still on the gas. :? Jees, what a moron.
The pics don't even come close to showing what the real damage is. Its pretty bad.
Lesson learned tho...in many, MANY different respects.
Detailed their Yukon Denali today just to say sorry, and basically they've got me to do whatever I can do help wise in many other respects.
This of course, is just the tip of the iceberg. I've got hell to pay financially.
I actually didn't have TC off...I guess it was still off from when my uncle was driving it. I definitely should have had it on...that alone could have prevented this altogether.
Actually, I have driven a GTO before...but it was bare stock..and I'm pretty sure the TC was on. This thing...it downright scares me. I think I would be fine driving it again...because I know what not to do now But I highly doubt I'll be driving this one again.
