What did you do with your car/truck or shop today?
LOL nice find dan, bought an oil filter going to let the dealer take a look at everything and do this oil change since i havent had it completely looked at in a while.
Also if anyone is interested i have a buddy with a 94 gmc sonoma for sale, for 2 grand, with a new engine and tranny for it. if your interested let me know its got a real nice new locking bed cover for it too. just get ahold of me. ill put an add up in the for sale section also.

Took my car in for an oil change and inspection, and it turned into an annoying little adventure..
Initially I just wanted to take it in and have them look it over and to just change the oil while it was there I also had a license plate light bulb that needed to be replaced (because we CANNOT get the lense off) so I supplied them with an oil filter and bulb, and I also had them check out a sound that was coming from the engine.. it sounded like metal rubbing together.
So i took it in told them everything i needed done and at the end get my bill.. NOBODY comes into the lobby to tell me whats up.. the bill is 54$ the bill SHOULD have been about 25.. so i ask what this is all about and she said there was the labor for the oil change which came to 12.50 the light bulb replacement was 15 which is excuse my language.. but bullshit. considering i gave them the bulb.. and inspecting for the sound issue cost 14.. and of course cost for oil and lube.. but this is insane.. come to find out I need a new serpentine belt tensioner... which their estimate to fix it was $316.35 there is no way in HELL i am paying that.. so my buddy who gets discounted parts is going to help me get the parts for that and me my brother and another friend are going to replace that... dealerships are so ridiculous..

Took most of the window tint off today....gonna try and get the rest off this weekend. It only took me a grand total of 8hrs to get the tint off with tint remover. The previous owner had double tinted it and the first layer was a pain to get off.

Look at this write up, is this what it sounds like? https://www.gmforum.com/mechanical-134/adjust-ac-clutch-plate-278951/
no my serpentine belt tensioner is loose part number 24504818
I can buy the part for ~80$ or less and install it myself as opposed to 316$ dealship garbage.
Its not really a real grinding sound you can barely hear it I compare it to if you took a spoon and ran it along the inside of a coffee can real fast that real faint metal on metal sound. to be honest you wouldnt really hear it if you didnt know my car as well as I do.

Changing a pulley is not that hard at all. Remove the belt, then remove the pulley, put on new pulley and put belt back on, done. Just saved yourself $300
