Let me know if you might be interested in replacing ball joints, tie rods and a lower intake manifold gasket on a 2005 Suburban. It is a retired friend of mine in Racine. I don't have the time to help him as I am out of the area. Might be a lucrative side job.

I would have to look in to what is involved. But your also talking about getting it up this far. I have a good friend in germantown that may be able to do it as well. A bit closer for him.

I had the resonator hallowed out today. My car is basically straight piped back to the factory mufflers now.

I swapped out the ICM on the truck today, It stalled again, so it wasn't the pickup coil. Darn intermittent problems. This means I not replaced all ignition parts but coil and wires.

Sorry to hear that. You will be a Ford guru (like you are a GM guru) shortly if you aren't already. There is something said to stay with one manufacturer, keeps the experience and learning curve in line. Maybe Dakota will trade Bubba for your Ford.... you may have to throw in a rebel flag or some homemade cornbread to get him to bite.

Ford is a bit different then GM as far as how things are done. But at it'* core a engine is a engine. The sensors are for the most part the same, it'* just knowing where they are. OBD1 means I can't use the computer, so it'* a bit more old school and experience.

I know on OBD1 GM trucks, a bad Coolant Temperature Sensor would make a motor stall out. If the Ford has one like GM, just check the ohms on the sensor. Just a guess.

Also if a CTS goes bad on a GM, it won't set a code either.

Actually, I think I may have just figured it out. When it was stalling it would cut out, then come right back in less then a second. Because of this I was convinced it was ignition. I also did a fuel pressure test and it all checked out as good. Well, the stalling has gotten a little worse. Drove today with the new ICM, and I almost didn't make it to my sons school to pick him up. It just died, I pushed in the clutch and I could get it to where it wanted to start. Ahh, this is different, this is fuel. On a whim I switched fuel tanks, a few seconds later it fired and ran. But I had a nearly empty rear tank. So I witched back. It ran a bit and then started to stumble. Switched back, and it smoothed out. Ahhh. Center fuel pump. I think I have a loose wire on the fuel pump. I remember there being a busted plug when I changed the center tank last year. So I'll lower the tank and check that out tomorrow.
