Oh, I couldn't disagree more. I use Linux to serve things. Try to serve ANYTHING using windows for more than 2 or 3 days. My Linux computer has been running in the basement for a month plus.

Running XP as a major server, prolly not a good idea. It'* for workstations. Running it as a small web server and whatnot, it works fine. You must not be setting them up properly.

Running Windows Server as a server, good idea. You must not have much experience with AD and Server 2k3. It'* extremely robust.

I'm not anti-Linux, or pro-Windows. Linux is a fun OS to play with, and it will do most things Windows does. But, for compatability and ease of use for 99% of the people out there, Windows is the way to go. As much as some people hate to say it, Windows is the industry standard. It'* written for the common Joe Schmoe to sit down at a computer and start using it.

Linux is definitely catching up, though. Even I figured out most of Ubuntu. And, all this discussion is making me consider it again, since I really don't play any games any more. It'* pretty, a little less of a resource hog, and it'* about time to clean up the ol' laptop.

But you linux folks do have to admit, there is a bit of a learning curve. It'* not as ingrained into the "collective knowledgebase" as Windows has become.

If you truly want a new convert, someone test Pepakura Viewer for me. If it won't run that, then I gotta stick with windows

Beyond that it'* tough to run a corporate network or such on a Linux platform, unless you get Novell or something.
