Most versions of Linux are free.

Wow! I am actually a Fedora Core person, and with as busy as I am nowadays haven't really kept up with the other flavors. I kept on saying to myself that once Linux gets a decent GUI (like Apple OS X), then Microsoft better watch out.

My favorite part of that video: seeing that extraordinary GUI on top of Linux, and then seeing the shell window pop up! Thing of beauty!

Just posted in another thread about how Linux doesn't support all of my Windows applications, but, with that fancy of a GUI, I might be willing to give up a few apps (or attempt to run WINE or QEMU)!

No. Microsoft Office is compiled to work on the Microsoft Windows operating system. None of the Linux emulators will be strong (or fast) enough to run it.

Openoffice will work, however. But if you are going to be exchanging a lot with other M$ users, it may cause you more grief than it'* worth, things aren't always as compatible as they should be.

"Running" and "running well" are two different issues.

You Linux folk crack me up. I mean, I find Linux useful sometimes, but only sometimes.

Using Linux with you guys is like pulling out a motor to change a belt. With Windows it is done the efficient way.
