Default Sales figure sources?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone out there knows of any web sites that might have some statistics on the sales of cars equipped with automatic transmissions. I'm doing a research paper and need some basic info along those lines.

also if anyone has a site that describes the efficiency loss in any automatic vs a manual (i know it varies greatly but just some general data is fine).

Thanks
