Sounds like you're too unstable or your memory timings may be off. There'* latency settings on most mid-hi end boards if i remember correctly.

You are correct. (DDR = Double Data Rate. Reads data on both the rising and falling edge of the clock. Whereas the bus is only the rising edge, I believe.)

I believe that the 3000+ CPU'* are a 166MHz CPU, not a 200Mhz. If memory serves, the 3200+ is a 200Mhz CPU. So you should not exceed 166Mhz FSB

Latency settings should be handled by the SPD.

As a word of caution ==> some mobos that have 3 memory slots can only support 2 memory slots when populated with 400 Mhz memory... probably doesn't apply to your case, but thought I would throw it out there...

Reset the bios, set the FSB to 166mhz and probably 1.6vlts to start. If that doesn't work, increase voltage by .025

yeah 4 mem slots here...

so im running 133 FSB right now, and you think i should be able to run 166... is there anything i can do different to get into 166 without it crashing?

If you're going to OC it you'll need to modify those on your own, however we're just trying to correctly clock this chip.

Corsair isn't no-name Ram, as long as it wasn't mis-labeled, or swapped out, it shouldn't be your problem. Do you have some other DDR 400 you could swap it for?

Not sure why this idea popped into my head, but try this:

1) Turn off memory control by SPD
2) Change memory rate to 333
3) Change FSB to 166
4) see what happens

Since your core is really a 166 Mhz core, you really don't get any benefit by running any memory faster than DDR333... see what I mean?

The CPUS FSB is 333 IE (166) in the setting.

It cold be that the memory it not set right,

See if i was infront of the PC i probily would have had it fixed, just sense every bios looks diffrent its hard to explain to Haro what e should change.

So Haro if you can find the Memory Speed setting change it to 333Mhz like said and set that CPU FSB to 166mhz

This is the memory he got.

Now it says PC-3200 on it.. (if thats realy whats in the PC)

Now sometime iv seen that memory doesn;t like to run at a slower speed, and that might bewhats going on here, but thats rare that that happens.

Sooo. Haro what would help out here alot, is take screen shots of every Bios screen that has anthing to do with CPU setting or Memory settings and post it so we can see how its setup
