I agree. I've actually heard that like 1 in 5 relationships now a days started online, but I still don't think its the norm to just find someone cruising online that isn't out for something alterior or isn't a bit desperate (okay, I didn't say everyone online is desparate, so don't jump on me..please, and thank you). Have you tried hitting up your friends, people you know and like are more likely to know people that are more down to earth and more your type. I think people also think of mechanics in an old stereotype, and don't realize that mechanics now a days, or even back when, are incredibly intelligent and skilled. You just have to prove them wrong.

Perception is everything. But then again, I live by the motto:

well I will just say this I am not really looking more so just observing human behavior it is quite interesting to see what is said and yes I will agree on the online dating thing. if any of you know that is how me and my ex got together and although we were together for almost a year there is jsut some things that ppl can't get over. She couldn't stand the thought of being a yankee. I to this day don't understand that but that is neither here nor there. I guess I am just saying that are alot of women out for just the money. God knows my ex wife was...well and other things but won't go there either. as for the friends thing yes I have and it is kinda hard when most are already married and have fallen into the "couple" mindset. There is this one girl but dang it she is hard as hell to read and mostly that is what i am cruising those places for is to sharpen my skills they have gotten a little rusty. But I guess nothing ventured is nothing gained. Oh BTW she is a Fbody fan.... girl after my own heart lol... but I guess i am leary now. after all the BS I have dealt with in the past

im going to side with everyone else [going out on a limb, here]. its the site youre looking at, not a statement about women in general. most of the women ive known and been close to didnt seem to have any sort of problem with mechanics or anyone else that works with his hands.

i believe your statement isnt so much a complaint about women, but a complaint about society [maybe you dont even recognise it, or maybe im off-base]. current society does look down on blue collar workers. theyre considered "lower class" regardless of income or education level. its no different today from 400 B.C. . [on average] people who consider themselves "upper class" or "white collar" will always look down on those they consider "lower class" or "blue collar".

thats what this is about - its not about women. its about society.

jeff you might hit it on the head I think I guess I am just looking out there and it seems that the values I was raised with are slipping away. I guess I am the type that is a "dying breed" here anymore. There are women out there but I guess I thought it was interesting that they said what they did
