Default I've been thinking about getting a truck...

First of all. No not getting rid of the Bonneville and replacing it with the truck.

I'm looking for a cheap no frills truck thats mainly in good running condition. To use as a beater/backup car incase anything should befall bonne. and to haul the lawnmower instead of putting it in the bonnietrunk. Just need it to ba an automatic really.... Is there any certain models/years I should avoid??

Suggestions help too!

the ford F series (all engines) up to & including 96 tend to corrode oil pans from the inside out. On a 4x4 truck its is a rather diffuclt replacement, needing to take the engine 1/2 way out. On the 4x2 trucks its a cinch.

I have to say, GMC drivelines/drivetrains are always cheaper to fix versus Dodge and Ford, as they utilized Dana...

Yeah, the oil pan on my dad'* 95 F-150 302 did the same thing, all you hav to do is replace it every 150,00 miles, or get a stainless steel one,

How would that truck be besides the high mileage and the torn seat?

imo - thats way over priced..
I'm not too knowledgable on the Rangers but with those miles thats got to be near end of life. Not many Ford engines make it to 200k.
