I just don't see the fascination with these tricked-out Jap cars - BTW I've never seen "The Fast and the Furious" and I'm not about to run out to rent it. Coming from a family where all we drove were station wagons with big V-8 305'* in them, I'd rather drive a beat-up '84 Olds Delta 88 than a ricer. I've owned ONE 4-cylinder vehicle in my life (a Dodge Neon - don't ask. It was a painful time.) and I can't see how anyone would be deluded into thinking that, even with the most expensive mods, that the whiny sound coming from a 4-banger could even come CLOSE to the growl of a REAL engine!

See, now I get to climb up on my high horse now that I own a real car, and not a minivan.

I watched The Fast and The Furious, but it was more about Vin Diesel than anything else. Yeah, yeah....I liked him in Boiler Room. The cars aren't all that great.

funny stuff. have only meet a few ricers out thier and have hit them FROM A ROLL with my bonnie. Even though it'* a 1998 SE with the drop in K&N,(yes...I know the K&N dosen't add much); at a roll it moves at a decent take off. Best when I catch them by surprise. If I get shot up,(and it has happend), then I have to run home to get the OTHER car They don't like it when I pull out the 1998 GP SE with the 3800 series II under the hood. Tends to tilt the odds more in my favor even though its stock. Haven't lost too many times in it. But if I get beat...I just take my lumps.

The one'* I can't get have a lil help under the hood,(heavy mods; nitrus). They generally won't say untill AFTER we run. Thats when I go get my GP,(Babby Girl I call here; believe she'* lighter and geared to be quicker than the Bonnie). Usually hit um up good though. See um cursing more than I do smiling. The only advantage they really have is in being lighter, but they generally can't match my toque at the wheels. They generally get off the line better,(due to wieght), unless they're runing an automatic. I've learned how to drive my Bonnie better by reading all the stuff you guys/gals post. I then try to go and practice the things that are discused when it come to launch and advantages of our cars.

As an off note:.....Have set up a run agianst a Ford Conture SVT for friday 10/25/02 in my GP. Some say I'll get him....Some say I won't. As it is...anything can happen on the street. As long as we stay off a top speed run type thing (like the highway) I think I can get him.
