My Old HP( Which I use 9/10 of the time ) is still functioning, still surfs the net, wireless broadband, burns my CD'* and the like... I still edit video with it and upload photos.... I'm supprised that the original burner gave me several years they I was using the crapp out of it...
I added memory( my choice ) and replaced 1 CD-RW drive( $37) cheapie... Been a pretty good PC...

Yes, enjoy it.
I would have opted for a bit more memory, but for what you do, that system should be more than sufficient.
HP / Compaq makes a good machine. They make an even better server too.

My P II 350 with a 4 gig HD just couldn't hack it anymore.....Consistant crashing, outdated Win2K.......I had to pull the plug.
Glad I did....for $350.....I don't even think that I could have built anything close to this for that....

You always want more Ram. Even my laptop.....I've got it maxed at 1.5 gig. Still want more.
Solution? Add a super-fast hard drive to the expansion bay and set up a swapfile.

FOr the processor that'* in here...should be quicker to start and run some apps and stuff. But it'* also running the sounds and graphics on board with XP on 256MB....Once I get a descent sound and graphics card, and another stick of ram....then that should really open it up. Give some Bandwidth back to the processor by making the sound and graphics process their own stuff.

You don't have the problem, as you can still add memory. My laptop is maxed at 1.5g. So I add a hard drive (you want it to not be the primary drive, and at LEAST 7200rpm) and set up a swapfile for windows to use as memory when the resources are tapped to the limit.
