Auroradude, you are by far the biggest dumbass and lowest punk on this site. You insult far too many people daily. The man just bought a new PC, you you just HAVE to take him down? Or anyone else for any other reason? I've ***^ on more toilets than you've even heard about, so let me tell you a story about HP/Compaq computers:

I have 3 old HP Pavilions and 2 old Kayaks that sit here because technology ran away with them. ALL 5 of them still work and to this day, of the 5, the only problem I ever had was with 1 3.5" floppy drive (manufactured by TEAC), and one power supply.

All 5 of these computers are in the 4-7 year old range. And still work flawlessly.

All I can add at this point is that you're an ignorant opinionated SOB, so STFU, Auroradude, and maybe more members here will learn to tolerate you.
THANK YOU BILL!!! When I read his post it ticked me off because that is NOT how we are around here. We don't treat each other with disrespect as Auroradude did. He owes an apology here and should watch his mouth. I am glad you stuck up for him. I don't know much about computers but I don't doubt your expertise one iota!!

Add some more RAM, and you should be good. Computers are like cars, they all serve the purpose they were built for.

My old HP Pavillion is still in use, and that thing is OLD. I havent had to change any of the hardware on it, and the only thing I did was add a Voodoo 2 graphics card(yes it'* that old).

Yea you do, because you capitalized letters and used proper puncuation when you wrote it.

I have a HP laptop that is loaded I bought used last year this time. That thing is a trooper. After having it connected to my car through the OBD port numerous times for real time testing, then using the car'* cig outlet to power it through a inverter on a 1000 mile trip, its holding up quite fine. I use a lot of HP products, just because I know the name is good.

Look Dude, no matter hard you try, you will alway get your foot stuck in your mouth and wind-up looking and sounding stupid! You are only coming off as a young punk with too much money and a really big mouth. And so far we have seen nothing that will change our opinions of you. Here is a good rule of thumb, if you have nothing good to say, or bring anything interesting to the forums, please keep your mouth SHUT! You have managed to make almost everyone on this forum mad, including myself, and now you are trying to take on Bill?? And Bill doesn't get mad easily, so keep going down this terrible path and you will have deal with me! And trust me, you do not want to deal with me.

On one of my accounts I take care of several (32 I think) hp kayaks. These are engineering stations, some near 8 years old. They run 24/7 and can count on one hand the number of problems they have had hardware wise. In today'* throw away society, I think that is impressive.

Well, the new machine went back and I picked up a new one this morning. So far I have had NO issues at all....except setting it up (first time you run XP blah blah bla>) I hate that ****. Other than that no random nothing'* yet. I figured it out this morning that it wasn't the PC itself restarting, something was crashing out the graphics card and it would just go blank and it was a bitch to get working again. So I took it back to Cirtcuit City this morning, told them what happened...They gave me a new one right away....It took me longer to get it out to the car than it took for them to do all the paperwork and get another unit out of the warehouse and into my hands. It was that quick.

Sorry Aurouradude.....I'm not loaded or come from a well-off family that I can **** out a ton of money. Nor do I do any of the **** on my machines that you do (****, ****, gaming, etc...) to where I need a high end machine. Thanks to all who stepped up for me on this.

Anyways.....Dude....Lick my nutz......Everyone else....GOOD DAY!

Enjoy the new machine, Nate!

I was getting close to upgrading, but I have the work laptop for the heavy stuff I do, so the old home PC'* perform just fine for surfing and such. Just can't justify it. But there are some REALLY good deals out there for under $500. Kudos, good choice.

Thanks I will!!

My P II 350 with a 4 gig HD just couldn't hack it anymore.....Consistant crashing, outdated Win2K.......I had to pull the plug.

Glad I did....for $350.....I don't even think that I could have built anything close to this for that....
