I have 3 old HP Pavilions and 2 old Kayaks that sit here because technology ran away with them. ALL 5 of them still work and to this day, of the 5, the only problem I ever had was with 1 3.5" floppy drive (manufactured by TEAC), and one power supply.
All 5 of these computers are in the 4-7 year old range. And still work flawlessly.
All I can add at this point is that you're an ignorant opinionated SOB, so STFU, Auroradude, and maybe more members here will learn to tolerate you.

Add some more RAM, and you should be good. Computers are like cars, they all serve the purpose they were built for.
My old HP Pavillion is still in use, and that thing is OLD. I havent had to change any of the hardware on it, and the only thing I did was add a Voodoo 2 graphics card(yes it'* that old).

Wow thats almost the same Compaq I have.... I just don't have the DVD
The first unit I had, had to go back as it was defective... This one I have not had a single isue with in the year that I have had it... Works like a charm...
My HP Pavillion is now 4 years old, and so far I have had to replace the CD-RW drive... Ity too still ticks along... I had the PC totally crash at one point, Didn't function at all.. The HP staff was more than helpful in correcting the problem... Once we figured out that the PC was dead, they sent a box for me to ship the PC back to them... I had a working PC in less than 7 days with a new HD...
Simply because of the Customer service, I'd buy another...

I have a HP laptop that is loaded I bought used last year this time. That thing is a trooper. After having it connected to my car through the OBD port numerous times for real time testing, then using the car'* cig outlet to power it through a inverter on a 1000 mile trip, its holding up quite fine. I use a lot of HP products, just because I know the name is good.

Look Dude, no matter hard you try, you will alway get your foot stuck in your mouth and wind-up looking and sounding stupid! You are only coming off as a young punk with too much money and a really big mouth. And so far we have seen nothing that will change our opinions of you. Here is a good rule of thumb, if you have nothing good to say, or bring anything interesting to the forums, please keep your mouth SHUT! You have managed to make almost everyone on this forum mad, including myself, and now you are trying to take on Bill?? And Bill doesn't get mad easily, so keep going down this terrible path and you will have deal with me! And trust me, you do not want to deal with me.

On one of my accounts I take care of several (32 I think) hp kayaks. These are engineering stations, some near 8 years old. They run 24/7 and can count on one hand the number of problems they have had hardware wise. In today'* throw away society, I think that is impressive.

Enjoy the new machine, Nate!
I was getting close to upgrading, but I have the work laptop for the heavy stuff I do, so the old home PC'* perform just fine for surfing and such. Just can't justify it. But there are some REALLY good deals out there for under $500. Kudos, good choice.

My P II 350 with a 4 gig HD just couldn't hack it anymore.....Consistant crashing, outdated Win2K.......I had to pull the plug.
Glad I did....for $350.....I don't even think that I could have built anything close to this for that....
