How would you spend 1300 on a tv? Can I keep it?

I know they are a little cheaper, but I think I'm gonna avoid plasma because I hear LCD lasts longer.

Realilisticly, I could make do with a itty bitty, black and white TV, as long as I had cable, but I would get as much TV as $1300 would get me I guess.

I wouldn't. I would spend maybe 500-800 of it on a TV, and spend the rest on something much more worth it. 1300 bucks for a TV is just insane!!

I have an older version of this Sony 36" tube TV.

The only thing I don't like about it is the weight - over 200 lbs IIRC. How many channels are broadcasting in the wide screen aspect ratio?

I have not read the thread, so if someone already said this, then disreguard it.

I second the Vizio, as I've seen one in action.
The picture is actually pretty darn good!
I compared it to a Samsung side by side and couldn't find a difference!
IMO, best buy right there

I'd go HP, but only because I see them in development all the time, and I get a 20% discount.
