Here, try this:

EDIT-->You'd, of course, would want to set your SSID to your deal...

Oh, oh, yeah, okay...

Right-click My Computer-->Manage-->Local Users and Groups-->Users-->Double-click Guest account. Under the General tab, make sure the "User cannot change password" and "Password never expires" checkboxes are checked. Next, make sure the "Account is disabled" checkbox is unchecked. Restart both computers and see if there'* connectivity. Also make sure the drives you want shared are shared with allow permissions set.

Try that, let me know....

Okay, your laptop IP reset itself. It does that on the PC, too, if it can't reach the destination host. the 169.254.x.x addy is a Microsoft useless addy...reset that one.

Also, it says "autoconfiguration"...I strongly recommend a static IP.

Well, I would say my above explanation, but you don't have that window on your laptop...Rogue, are you more familiar with this laptop wireless card, and how to configure that sucker??

hmm. I have a dumb question, BUT, for the wireless network I have both the network connection AND a network BRIDGE. on the bridge I cna change the IP address... am I onto something there? lol. I can also change the gateway, subnet mask, etc. should I change them to be user configured to the same ones as my desktop?
