I think she fell into a weird loop hole. If she didn't sign the Army'* contract, she belonged to nobody. If she had, why didn't the AF notice her in the DOD system already and process her? Me thinks their is more to the story???

Errr hate to tell ya this but apparently they changed something, because I am 100% legally contracted to go into the Air Force now. They must've made it universal now that once you swear in for DEP you belong to them.

You are right Mouse, but the reason is because of a all volunteer force and the weak Soldier/ Airman is not DMOSQ. Not worth the hassle to the military at that stage of the enlistment. If it was a draft, story line would not read the same. Recruiter is not happy because he doesn't get "mission credit" unless the recruit ships, so he will put a lot of pressure to get recruit to ship. Recruiters have two missions, contract mission and ship mission. Ship mission is a bit more complex, as even if he ships but arrives under false pretense, the recruiter takes a hit.

I think a lot of the issue is because DEP time counts as time "served" on your 8 year contract. My time in the DEP was all of 1.5 months, so after I did my 6 years active I still have 2 years as a member of the IRR. Most other members don't have that long left because the DEP time is generally 6-9 months.

Did your dad require, or acquire, the building? Did he acquire the car along with the building?

Woops, I meant acquired. He said he had to get the VIN checked out to make sure it'* not stolen and then he can go through the process of getting a title.
