Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

I did not think they used different ones either, but RockAuto had 2 AC Delco'* listed, and on Amazon it asked specifically is the trans was the plain HD, or the 4T65E-HD (code MN7).

Got my FSM on the way, had to look for a 2006 set though, which was easy to find after seeing Randal'* links for the 2005 ones on E-bay.
Got the set for 225.00, guy wanted 250.00 but I made a 225.00 offer..
I am really glad I did not settle for that 2005 POS!
It may have more miles, but my 2006 Black Beauty is much nicer!

You guys know those things you get mailed to you when the cars factory insurance is expiring, or expired?
I got some crap from "Motor Vehicle Services" and they are offering coverage for everything "platinum coverage" and or powertrain "transmission coverage"
I doubt I need coverage on anything other than the transmission, as I can do everything else fairly easily.
Is the powertrain coverage worth having though?
I see nothing saying they are linked to GM in anyway, so it almost seems like a scam..

It seems like most of those companies find their way out of most any repair, while others swear by them. It seems like a gamble either way.

Every time you buy a car these company'* get your information at the DMV.
Expect a few dozen more to come.
Most of these companies fail after getting your cash.

That is what I figured, I'll just try to keep enough in the bank for a rebuild when the time comes, as I am sure the transmission won't last forever.
