Forgive me, not a gear head by any stretch.
I figure if the oil is disappearing, it'* gotta go somewhere.
Maybe I am backwards???/ Doesn't coolant go in the motor if it is a head gasket???
Maybe that is what I was thinking?
Either way, just trying to help the lady figure out what could be the problem.
She said it is like a rotten egg / sour smell.
Car is not overheating.
She is the 2nd owner, her Father-in-law bought it brand new. He had it up til last year.
It was garage kept and it was his second vehicle, just never really driven as he also had a pick up he used apparently as his DD.

Have the exhaust back pressure checked on this car... If this motor is working really hard the Blowby could be ading in burning off more oil... I'm not a big fan of the ford 3.8... The head gaskets do suck on these, but generally they will get the mileage on them before they bite the dust... And a lot of the FWD 3.8'* at the time were recalled and had the head gaskets updated...
at this point check the exhaust system back pressure and see what we get..
