This is probably the dumbest thing i have herd in a while. Not buying gas for 1 day will do nothing. If you want to stick it to the man how about not buying gas guzzling SUVs and trucks?

I spend only ~65$ a week (thats filling up twice only because i drive upwards to 500+ miles a week) on 93. I'm getting about 29.5 MPG from highway and around town combined. So yay me!

Simple economics I'm afraid.
Well said. In addition, not buying gas does nothing to the oil companies. All it does is punish the station owners, who are just trying to scrape by like the rest of us.

I'm afraid the reality of escalating gas prices is just something we are going to have to get used to. If you think we have it bad, go check the pump price in Europe.

It'* funny (to me) that as Americans, we somehow feel we have a right to unlimited gasoline at low prices. Don't get me wrong, I hate the oil companies as much as anyone. But the laws of supply and demand always win. (More people driving, and driving cars with poor fuel economy at that, + decreasing supply = higher prices)

But I do strongly suspect they are tinkering with the laws, and that does **** me off.

My gas gauge is in the red right now, but I'll risk running out of gas just not to buy gas today.

I need gas too, almost empty.

If a nationwide boycott happened, the oil companies would probably just raise the prices out of spite. lol

I was putt putting into the gas station today. I had no choice but to get gas. I paid $3.75 a gallon for 93

Needless to say, i only put $20.00 in the tank and it barely gave me over a quarter tank.

Jeeze at $3.25 I guess we have it good. I have decided that if prices reach 4 bucks a gallon, I'm catching the bus to work and walking to the store and to other stuff.

You know, I just paid 4.54/gallon last night for gas, thats fairly moderate, only 70 to fill it this time versus 85

I always say I really don't care how high gas prices are since I can afford increases; but what pisses me off is how the price changes by as much as $.30-.40 a gallon in one day. I mean, I'm sure just about any other product or service in the world is going to have some fluctuations in materials or whatnot, yet we don't see the price of milk jump $.25 one day because a rash of mad cow disease, and then another $.10 two days later because a bottling plant was blown up by terrorists.
