Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

Does the forum seem slow

Might be time to dump temp files and cookies, and go for a reboot.

I have had less problems only with Firefox as browser.
When using safari it was so bad. Link would cause jams with warnings about a connection to skype or something locking the browser down.
Speed wise it has been hit and miss, but then the weather /cabling across the country may have also..." Frozen Up" LOL !

Once in a while I highly recommend to keep things clean in the computer....
First run a free program called CCCleaner that is totally safe. CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Then if you dont already use Spy-bot run it..Free as well: Spybot - Search & Destroy from Safer-Networking Ltd.
Also here is the fastest defragger available- does the computer in a few minutes!
File Parade Software Downloads: Auslogics Disk Defrag 4.4.2.0
I also have a protector the inside of my computer...LOL!!

I use CCleaner and Auslogics Disk Defrag as well. Haven't ran Spybot in a while though, avast does a great job as an all around defense.

I avoid registry cleaners because some are too invasive, and if you do not totally know what you are doing you can ruin your windows installation easily, and sometimes backing up the registry will not work, I know I have been there once myself, and I am no newbie at PC security..
If you always uninstall unused programs correctly, there is very little left over in your registry to worry about, so all I run is a good free Anti Virus (MSFT Security Essentials), Windows firewall, and my routers built in firewall, along with spybot *&D and Malware Bytes.
Running just those few things have kept me problem free for years.

Nice PC guts Art, I see you have a Zalman CNPS CPU cooler, at least it looks like a Zalman, the CNPS are a great line of aftermarket coolers, I ran one for years, now I am using a Thermaltake FRIO...
