I know He said they are all in separate boxes, but $266 seems very high. I thought $81.55 for shipping was pretty reasonable, so I didn't mind that, but he increased shipping by over 300%!
it would be cheaper to drive there! Maybe you can meet him half way.
He offered to meet me half way...but that'* a lot of miles to drive and a lot of gas, and I can't afford to take time off of work. I work weekends too which contributes to a lot fo my hours. Plus my tie rod ends are bad. About 2500 miles ago the shop told me about them. I'm still driving fine, but I don't want my car to fall apart on my way to Indiana somewhere.

I talked with a friend of mine who actually has a 92 Grand Prix with a full leather kit for his car, and it'* the same exact kit for my Cutlass (same interior). The only problem is that the headrests have the Pontiac logo embroidered on it, but I'll just get the headrests wrapped separately. He will sell it to me for $250, which includes all the seats and the panels in leather for the doors. Seems pretty good to me. The kit is still in the box! If I can get out of this deal and get my money back I'll buy this kit instead.

Tell him you don't appreciate being jerked around about a price that HE quoted to you, and he can shove the seats up what he uses to sit on them. In those words. See how long it takes him to figure that one out.
If I agree to sell someone something, I NEVER quote a price for shipping until I have it from the shipping company, on THEIR paper, for the receiver'* address.

Besides, that kind of thing, i.e., changing a price after it has been agreed upon, is just plain unethical. He should swallow the difference and send you the seats, no questions asked, and not even mention it at all.

Get out of this transaction NOW. Since the auction was not completed thru eBay, you might be out of luck there. But if you paid Paypal with a credit card, you have full dispute rights... both with Paypal and the credit card company. Tell the seller you want a full refund or you will initiate those disputes... and then do it if he doesn't honor your request immediately.

Even if you did agree to meet halfway in person, there is no guarantee that he would actually show up given his seller honesty record so far. I don't care how bad you want the seats, this smells as fishy as the Bass Pro Shop'* international headquarters! :? Get out of it NOW!

I don't want the seats anymore that'* the thing. Got a much better deal on a leather kit that includes the door panels, for $250.

I used Paypal Buyer Credit. I will contact Paypal tonight, especially since I haven't heard from eBay yet.

Thanks guys for your replies.

UPDATE: Well I kind of thought this would happen, but they tried to give me suggestoins as to what to do:

"Thank you for writing to eBay. My name is Oceanna, and I am a Community
Support Representative for eBay'* SafeHarbor team. I am happy to assist
you with your concerns regarding Seller, blanke_spot.

After reviewing this situation, I found that the purchase that you
reported took place outside of the eBay site. Items purchased outside of
eBay include those bought directly from a seller, item listings that
ended with no high bidder, and item listings that did not meet the
reserve price on eBay. Since this item was purchased outside of eBay, it
is not eligible for eBay'* protective services, such as transactional
feedback, requests for contact information, or our Standard Purchase
Protection Program. Those services are only available for items listed,
bought, and sold on eBay in compliance with our guidelines and policies.

At this time, I would like to review some options that I feel you should
pursue based on the information available to me. Since eBay is not
involved in the actual transaction that takes place, I am unable to
directly intervene; however, I can provide some suggestions that may be
of assistance. Some information about the options I am going to discuss
can be found at: "BLAH BLAH BLAH...."

She said I could go to law enforcement or the IFCC (internet fraud complaint center) but those seem a little too far since I'm 90% sure this guy did not intentionally try to rip me off, although he may have, who knows. I filed a complaint with Paypal since I purchased the seats through Paypal, asked for a refund from Paypal and I emailed the seller again asking for a refund, and he'* still avoiding the issue. I hope I can get my $406 back. :?

Yea, unfortuantely you are really up a creek since you did the transaction outside of EBay. Oh well, live and learn man...

Which is also why I think he possibly knew he could get away with scamming me since it was outside of the auction...maybe he took advantage of the fact that I offered him $$ outside. I still filed a claim with Paypal, but if he doesn't have the money, which I doubt he does, I'm probably just going to have to pay the extra shipping if he doesn't budge, because I'd rather spend the extra money and get what I originally paid for, than lose $406.
