Default BUYING ONLINE...*&^%$*& UPDATE

In case you didn't see my post, I ordered some very nice leather seats for my Cutlass, total order was $406, $81 of that was for shipping. Well I get a call from the guy saying that there was a problem with shipping and that he estimated [way] wrong when he posted the item, and he had to box them up... anyway, he said shipping was now $266!!!!!!!!!!!! That'* almost the price for the seats themsleves!

I told the guy I'd like my money back. He can relist them and probably get more for them anyway...cause I really didn't want to spend another $185 for the seats. I said maybe in a few weeks if they don't sell I will buy them, but I'll pay him in payments then he can ship them. Well he basically didn't want to refund me becuase he said he sold them to pay bills, so I'm guessing he already spent the money. Now I'm stuck paying off these seats, as well as another $185 for shipping. This really sucks.

Also, today I was supposed to get a rear strut bar for my car. Told them several times it was the rear I ordered. I even put rear in BOLD Capital letters on the order form. Got it today, and it'* the FRONT bar.... that I bought from them last summer. What is so hard about getting an order right!?

Sorry, I'm really annoyed right now... I had to get it off my chest. Thanks for putting up with me

Tell him too bad. He sold you the seats at a set price with a reasonable estimate for shipping. He can't just all the sudden tack on another $180 and expect you to pay it. If he already spent the money on bills that'* his problem, not yours. Not saying don't work with him to find happy ground for both, but you shouldn't have to eat it for his mistake.

Agreed, you definitely do NOT have to pay those extra shipping charges! If he does not agree to either (1) refund your money completely, or (2) pay any extra shipping himself (above what he quoted you), then that is an easy complaint to file with eBay. I would look into it for that kinda money... :?

yes the proce agreed of is the price agreed on, he just cant say that its more for shipping after he already was paid, you could take him to court, for the extra $$$$ if you would feel the need, do you have any documents that said that the agreed price??

Well I still would like to get out of the deal now, but since he was not willing to refund, I said I cold PROBABLY pay him every week..but I'd rather not. I don't know how to file a complaint with ebay since I haven't had to do that yet. I mean I know it isn't his fault (completely) that shipping was more. He definitely should have double checked the shipping cost. I think he shoudl pay the extra personally, or just contribute some of the item price to shipping, but I know he wouldn't do that. I really don't like this extra cash though....I'll try to find the link to the auction.

Ok guys, this is the dilemma. When i posted about buying the seats, I made a deal with him to end the auction early instead of waiting a few days for it to end. This is where I will not get help from ebay IMO. I talked to him on the phone, we agreed on $325 for the seats, plus $81.55 for shipping, which is what he put on his auction. I sent him the total: $406.55 through paypal.

Can I file a complaint even though he ended the auction and we agreed over the phone on a price?? His shipping was still way off, but I don't know what I can do about this. I still think it'* screwed up if I should have to pay extra money because of his mistake.

There is a way to inform Ebay, I did it and an auction was pulled before the sale of the car in that case. Contact Ebay

I believe in buyer beware, however its up to the seller to ensure correct shipping costs.
