I believe in buyer beware, however its up to the seller to ensure correct shipping costs.
I just wonder if ebay will care since the link on his auction says "ended", "item no longer for sale" wich was really "made a deal on the phone with a member."

I'll try to contact them. I think it'* BS spending that much on shipping. I never would have bought them if the shipping was that high to begin with.

Road trip?

Seriously tho, investigate shipping. I doubt its that spendy. He wont go the extra mile, so you may have to....just a suggestion seeing you cant get the money back from him (which is wrong IMO).

When a seller is not upfront about costs (all costs) and keeps money without sending a product, that is theft in my opinion. Being up front from the start is where he went wrong.

btw PayPal?

Well I can call UPS and ask them how much it would be, but I'm not sure of the weight of the seats...so hopefully they can give me an answer.

A set of wheels weighs more and costs about $100 or so for shipping on average. He must be wrapping them in gold foil :?

I emailed eBay about the issue. Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon. Usually takes 1-2 days.

I know He said they are all in separate boxes, but $266 seems very high. I thought $81.55 for shipping was pretty reasonable, so I didn't mind that, but he increased shipping by over 300%!

I've sold stuff on Ebay and underestimated the shipping cost and I ended up covering the cost myself. That is only the right thing to do. I wouldn't go through with the deal. If he ended the auction without you bidding on the item then he can't leave you negative feedback.
I personally wouldn't pay that much extra! If it was just a few bucks that is one thing but not that much more!!
