Kinda late now, but still, Welcome to the club! I know you'll enjoy it!

3800'* are very tough. I will agree that IMO they are 2nd to the SBC. Pushrods are the way to go IMO, and I'll probably be driving cars with pushrod engines for a long time.

I look forward to some of your future posts.

In the last 12 years, I have bought, worked on, and shipped 760 GM 3800'* of
which 245 were Bonnevilles. Of the 760 3800'*, only five motors have failed.
The most common problem we have found is the crank sensor. This is an
easy fix though. The other is the dreaded plastic intake.
