Ok well crap, I just got a call said the OBD1 wont read it and neither will OBD2 because its a transition year. I read about the jump A & B and get the codes through the dash. I know code 12 is everything is OK from what iv read. Does anyone have decent information on how this is achieved? I don't want to buy adapters or a OBD 1.5 reader. :(

Well we got new plugs and found a vacuum leak, but its still smoking! wtf!. Should I expect this for a while after while it clears itself out. If there was anti freeze in the oil, would it cause smoke? Everything was done properly, and it seems were no further ahead 3 weeks later.

Keep checking your oil. If you have coolant in the oil it will turn milky and foamy. Also check the inside of the oil fill cap and look for foam. You can do a seafoam in the oil and the top end. This should remove any or most of the water in the engine. Have you tried a pressure test on the cooling system? If that'* holding pressure you not leaking coolant.

We just did, its still leaking somewhere. This has been the biggest waste of my time ever. every gasket was concerning the coolant was and the engine was brand new torqued to spec. I just don't understand it. (Very Angry)

Recheck the torque on the bolts. When you torqued them did you do them just once? Or did you go over them a few times? When torquing gaskets I find it'* a good idea to half torque to 50% and then go again at full torque. Then check them again. Do this till the bolts no longer move. It seems like you have a uneven torque right now, or something is warped.

We tightened them in sequence in 2 or maybe even 3 steps as per the Haynes manual. Everything was in sequence to the book. This is why we are so terribly pissed off right now. when we pressure test it, you have hear gurgles around by the plenum and from the air cleaner area. Were not sure if its deeper in than that, but we dont think were doing any more today. I think were both about to snap!

I assume the stove pipe is the little silver pipe on the right side of the plenum, no we did not. It never came in any kits, and truth be told, i didn't know it came out. Could that cause coolant to be getting into the exhaust, and the egr, all over my air filter? It seems my coolant is going straight to the exhaust, but I am not 100% sure of that.
Purple, we had it open a twice now, and both times it was visually inspected, and appeared OK, but i suppose that doesn't count for much huh. I'm going to be angry if it was a cracked whatever anywhere after all this BS.
