Just checking: you are experienced with soldering electronics, unsoldered the old stepper motor from the circuit board, cleared excess solder, cleaned the pads, then soldered the new one in?

i have never done them I have had the truck for 3 years, I don’t know if it is the original gasket, wouldn’t it misfire in overdrive though if it was intake gasket, why only in tow mode and 3rd when it stays steady at 3000 rpm

What is the fuel pressure like? At idle and at 3,000RPM in third gear?

You need a fuel pressure test gauge. Report the numbers back here. You're hoping for 55-62PSI.

If your getting high rpm misfires and can not duplicate it at idle or on a brake torque. Can you see what cylinders are misfiring by raising the rpm in park or neutral? If it'* only a couple of cylinders like 2 and 5 drop out and counts up constantly for example,try doing a crankshaft variation learn procedure with a scan tool. I have cured many P0300 by doing so.
Also these will develop high rpm misfires due to valve issues. Do a compression test and watch the 1st puff, (that'* the important one)after that one the compression will raise to match the others, and compare to one that isn't misfiring and see if it'* less.I have also found that I usually wont see it with a leak down test. Hope you find this helpful.

i think cylinders 1,5,8 were the ones misfiring
