Well........there are some things:
1. It'* the front bank, assuming no bottom end damage, it'* easier to access.
2. I was beginning to consider a freshened up bottom end for the winter, or even a short block. Along with something else that'* never been done before to this gen, which would require disassembly of the top end again.
My biggest hope right now is that the cylinder head is OK and didn't take a beating. Duplicating the porting now and having it mach the rear would be a little difficult.

I'll get through it. 
I tear it apart every winter anyway. I just get an early start this year, which is good considering what I have planned in addition to these repairs.
No sweat whatsoever. This probably rules out a late-season track visit though.
