General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

What's the difference?

the door handle screw is structural in that it give support to the handle specifically.

No part numbers on those pockets? Do they interchange?

If the one in the junkyard didn't have a majestic teal interior...I'd find out.

that is the same as the 92-95....i think that they changed the screws behind the door light to only one screw on the 97+....i know that Jrs3800 had a problem when he went to the new doors

I have a feeling it might have to do with the push pins (whatever you call 'em!) used on the door panels. I know manufacturers (Chrysler does, anyway) constantly change vendors on things like that. Check to see if the fasteners are different between 96 and 97...

Bill, does the part # you are looking at include the window switch? Maybe the wiring of the windows is different between 96 and 97, thus a different window switch.
